A motorcycle featured on the "American Chopper" TV show was auctioned off by a Minnesota company, which donated the proceeds today to an organization that honors slain law enforcement officers.
CrankyApe.com, an online powersport auction company headquartered in Cannon Falls, handed over a $27,077 check to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund in a ceremony in St. Paul today.
Brian Livingston, co-founder of the company and a former police officer, was a close family friend of St. Paul officer Ron Ryan Jr., who was killed in the line of duty in 1994, the same day that officer Tim Jones and K9 Laser were murdered.


"While nothing can compare to what these fallen officers have given, we hope to help gain recognition and support for such a great charitable organization whose focus is remembering those who have made the greatest sacrifice to our communities," Livingston said.
The 2007 Harley Davidson was customized by Paul Jr. Designs and featured on the Discovery Channel's "American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior" in two episodes in May.
They took the motorcycle from a CrankyApe.com auction, stripped it down and rebuilt it with new parts, the company said. The bike was then placed back on the auction website and sold.
